Assistant Principal

Aaron Clark has spent over 27 years as an educator in a variety of settings, including urban, suburban, and rural schools in 3 different states. He’s spent his entire career, which spans the entire range of PreK-Grade 12, connecting with students who struggle so that they can make positive strides in their educational achievement.

For 25 years Mr. Clark worked as a music teacher, starting as a high school choral director and moving on to his true love, elementary school, with a couple of side trips to teaching middle school chorus, guitar, and general music. He has spent time directing musical theatre productions and collaborating with grade level teachers to present assemblies on school values.

Mr. Clark earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of South Carolina, his Masters in Music Education from Gordon College, and his Masters in Educational Leadership and Management from Fitchburg State College, by way of the Educator Leadership Institute, an intensive program taught by top K-12 educational leaders in Massachusetts.

Immediately before coming to the Winthrop School Mr. Clark spent 2 years as the Student Program Support Administrator, a special education administrative role at the Crocker Elementary School in Fitchburg, MA. He has a strong history of working collaboratively with school teams and families to support students with a variety of struggles by leveraging their strengths.

When he’s not at the Winthrop School, Mr. Clark likes to spend time at his home in Rockport, Massachusetts with his new wife and his dog and two cats. He has two adult children and enjoys spending his time running, knitting, reading, and playing bass guitar with his band Charming Arson.
