Dr. Maureen Lueke brings over 25 years of experience in education to her current role as Interim Principal of the Winthrop School in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Her diverse background spans grades K–12 and the community college level, reflecting a deep commitment to student growth, academic achievement, and inclusive, supportive school environments.

Throughout her career, Dr. Lueke has served in a wide range of roles, including high school
classroom teacher, school psychologist, and guidance counselor at Triton Regional Middle and High School. She was the Director of Guidance at Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen, MA, and also held counseling positions at Pinkerton Academy, Masconomet Regional High School, and in the Saugus Public Schools.

Her extensive elementary experience includes her work at Howe Manning Elementary School in Middleton, MA, and later as Principal of both Oaklandvale Elementary School and the Belmonte STEAM Academy in Saugus. She also served as Vice Principal of Saugus Middle School. In addition, Dr. Lueke has taught part-time at North Shore Community College and worked as a counselor at Milford Family Counseling.

A passionate advocate for at-risk students, Dr. Lueke has focused much of her professional work on social-emotional learning (SEL), fostering positive school climates, and building strong partnerships with families. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Currently serving as Interim Principal at the Winthrop School, Dr. Lueke is excited to be part of
the Ipswich Public Schools community. She has quickly developed strong relationships  with students, staff, and families and is committed to collaboration, high expectations, and
student-centered success.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lueke lives in Danvers, Massachusetts, with her husband of 35 years. Together, they have raised three grown children and are the proud grandparents of two grandsons. A former Division I scholarship athlete and team captain in both cross-country and track at the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Lueke has also coached varsity cross-country, indoor and spring track, and tennis in Methuen and Danvers. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her family.
